Off to a good start

First day of exploration in Italy. Kind of tired but thirsty for knowledge! Guided tour at Doge’s Palace in St. Marks Square. I only caught about half of what our tour guide was saying. His Italian accent was thick and their were a lot of people and other distractions. I was mesmerized what I was seeing so no big deal. The mosaics blew my mind. It’s hard to believe people have the patience for such delicate detail. Check out these cool horses on the facade of St. Mark's Basilica They've been there since 1204, except for a brief stint with Napoleon (we won't talk about that). Now they've been moved inside for safekeeping, but replicas are in their place outside. Che bello!
